Missions (Outreach)

Avondale Pattillo UMC supports both local, regional, and worldwide mission (evangelism and outreach) activities.  We offer many opportunities for service.

"While some limit the church's mission to evangelism, her more comprehensive task is to be salt and light in the world, encircling lives and lighting the way for those who walk in darkness".
  -- [NIV Topical Study Bible]

DEAM Food Pantry

Church members donate non-perishable food items and funds to the Decatur area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM). DEAM also gives rental and utility assistance.

Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM)

"DCM alleviates and prevents homelessness while affirming the dignity of each family." - DCM tag line.

Our church is a participating member of the interdenominational DCM. DCM is a faith-based nonprofit organization supported by over 35 congregations from 14 denominations. It provides a range of services for homeless and at-risk families to help them become self-sufficient.  DCM also gives rental and utility assistance.
